Kudoboard HRIS Integration via API (Finch)

This guide will walk you through the setup process for integrating your HRIS system with Kudoboard, enabling seamless data sync and management. We use Finch as our integration provider to securely connect with your HRIS system.

Overview

This integration allows Kudoboard to automatically synchronize user data from your HRIS system, keeping both platforms updated with minimal effort. User data is synced nightly for the most accurate information. We support a wide range of HRIS systems, including ADP, Workday, and others.

 

Requirements

Before setting up the HRIS integration, ensure you have an admin user in Kudoboard that also
has admin access to your HRIS system.

 

Setup Process

Step 1: Grant Access to your HRIS

  1. Log in to Kudoboard and navigate to the Integrations section (/admin/integrations).
  2. Find the HRIS panel and click Connect HRIS. A Finch Connect popup will appear. Kudoboard uses Finch to connect to our customer’s HRIS systems.
  3. Follow the prompts to grant Kudoboard read-only access to your HRIS data. This will allow us to pull necessary employee information.
  4. Once completed, you’ll be redirected back to Kudoboard and the integration status will display as Connected.

Step 2: Run your initial sync

1. On the /admin/integrations page, click the Sync now button to run your first sync. Note that any users currently in your Kudoboard tenant who are not in your HRIS will be archived when the sync completes. The items that will be retrieved from your HRIS are:

  • Employee IDs
  • Emails
  • Names
  • Birthdays
  • Work start dates
  • Manager employee IDs

2. Once the sync completes, you can review the data on the /admin/users page.

Step 3: Enable nightly sync

Once you’re satisfied that the data is syncing correctly, you can click Enable nightly sync and we’ll automatically pull data each night.
