GIFs are a series of images played consecutively very fast (think of them as a digital flipbook!). So, when they are printed, the GIF is "frozen" on one of those images. Sometimes, your GIF might stop on a frame with no content, or one that doesn't correctly represent the GIF's intention.
Note: GIFs will print EXACTLY how you see them on the Customize Your Book page.
To resolve this, the easiest thing to do is change the frame that is shown. You can choose from the first frame, a middle frame, or the last frame. Follow these steps:
1. Click the landscape icon and click "Change frame" until you see the desired frame appear.
If this doesn't work well, you can hide the media from the page by following these steps:
1. If the page is split (image on one page and the message on the other), first combine the pages again by clicking the two arrows pointing at each other. Note: a split page can not be removed from the layout.
2. Then, click the landscape icon and choose "hide media" from the dropdown.
You can adjust the font size after hiding the media if needed by using the "A" icon as the associated message will remain on the page.
If you'd still like an image on the page, you can swap it out for a different still image on the board itself. Or, you can save the GIF to your device, export the frame from the saved GIF as a JPG/PNG that you'd like to use, and then replace the GIF with the JPG/PNG on the board (but this is a heavier lift than hiding the media).
