5 Tips To Increase Board Engagement

1. Set the example, let others follow your lead

To ensure success with your team, make your first post on a Kudoboard, before inviting others, really good. Add a nice message and include a GIF, image, or video to go along with it. Make your post impactful by being specific. The more specific, the better because people tend to feel appreciated when recognition is personalized, and unique to a specific situation. If you leave a post like this, people will follow your lead.

2. Add a directional post

Consider adding a direction post to the top of your board. In your post, include a brief description of what you hope to create on the board. Set the scene for contributors and outline the parameters of the board so that contributors have guidance when they post. Pin the post to the top of the board. This way, it's the first post that all contributors review when they visit the board.

3. Set a deadline for board contributions

In your board invite, include a deadline for when you expect to have all posts submitted on your board. This way, contributors have incentive to post before then.

4. Allow all users site-wide to create boards

Kudoboard is powered by individuals who want to share appreciation and connect with each other. If you're on a plan where only one admin can create new boards (Premium Packages) or if all individuals are purchasing boards ad hoc in your organization, consider upgrading to a business, pro or enterprise plan.

This way, all users across your organization are empowered to be culture champions. On business, pro or enterprise plans, employees are encouraged to share gratitude and bring people together when the moment arises, they do not have to pay for one off boards or have an admin create a board on their behalf.

5. Are you working within a remote, in-person or distributed team? In any of these cases, add your Kuoboard site link (if on a business, pro or enterprise plan) as a tile to your intranet resource page. This way, employees have easy access to the site.

If you want to drive more engagement on any specific board, embed that board in your intranet to create more visibility. You can also invite people to the board via QR code for live or in person environment. In that case, copy and customize this template. Then, print the template and place it in your office break room, a front office or other highly visited location.
