Best Practices for a Successful Site Launch

Encourage Visibility & Participation

Post your site link somewhere employees can easily access, such as your intranet or internal homepage.

After your initial launch communications, send a few follow-up reminders so employees remember they have access to the platform. Be clear that all employees can create boards and cards, not just leadership or HR teams.

Create an organization-wide shout out board and embed it in your intranet (or a similar high-traffic space). This gives employees a shared place to recognize and celebrate one another. To help build momentum, consider identifying culture champions — such as managers or employees familiar with Kudoboard — who can regularly contribute posts and encourage participation. Before launching your shout out board, review best practices here.

It’s also helpful to create organization-wide boards that invite participation across teams. Employees often mirror the types of boards they see others creating. If a leader or other well-known person in your org has an upcoming retirement, birthday, welcome, or milestone celebration, consider creating a board and inviting employees across the organization to contribute to model this use case.

Launch Expectations

After launch, it’s normal to see an initial spike in usage followed by a temporary drop-off. Consistent reminders and ongoing visibility are key to long-term adoption, so continue encouraging employees to use the platform in the weeks and months after launch.
