What is the new Home page and is the welcome message customizable?

You may have noticed that the Kudoboard Team has added a new Home page experience. Don't worry! All of your boards and cards remain unaffected. You can navigate to the view you're used to (with an updated navigation) from the left-hand menu by clicking Boards & cards:

If you're on a Business, Pro, or Enterprise plan, as an Org Admin, you can also decide whether your users default to the new Home view or the Boards & cards view via the Settings tab of the Admin Panel
Note: Defaulting to Boards & cards will remove the new Home experience entirely for all users.

The Home page provides you with quick-create actions, surfaces your recent board and card activity, lets you preview our new Themes library, where you can quickly create a board or card by simply selecting a theme you'd like to use, and more!

Customizing from the Home page:

If you're on an Enterprise plan, as an Org Admin, you can also customize the welcome message that users see at the top of their Home page and highlight up to three boards that you'd like them to interact with first.

  1. From [yoursubdomainname].kudoboard.com/home, click Create a custom welcome message to open the welcome message editor.

Note: If you'd like to hide this option from your Home page, click Maybe later. You can always customize it later from the Admin Panel (explained later in this article). A message will only show for all users if you add a message and/or highlight a board.

  2. In the editor, you can add a message to greet your team, advise them in next steps, provide Kudoboard related updates, etc. Dress up your message with emojis using the smiley face icon, and format your text as desired using the "T" icon

  3. Under the message text box, you can highlight up to three boards of your choosing. Boards must first be marked as global before they can be highlighted. Once a board is marked as global, it will show in the "Select a board..." dropdowns. You are free to select a single board, two boards, three boards, or no boards at all.

  4. Once you're happy with your message and highlighted boards, go ahead and click Save. Doing so will publish your changes to all users' Home pages. And you're all done!

Here's an example of what a message might look like:

Note: You can choose to hide the welcome message from all users' Home pages by clicking the three dots in the upper right-hand corner of the welcome message on your Home page and choosing Hide. You can also make edits at any time via this same menu.

Customizing from the Admin Panel:

You can also customize and choose to hide/show the welcome message from the Users section of the Admin Panel

  1. To navigate to the Admin Panel, simply click the quick link button in the lower left-hand corner of your Home page:

  2. Navigate to the Settings tab.

  3. Under the Organization Settings, the third question down reads Show welcome message?. Use the Show/Hide options and the Customize welcome message button to update this setting and edit the welcome message.
Note: Be sure to scroll to the bottom of the Settings page and click Save to save any changes.
